Posted in Fake Wonk on November 20, 2009 by thepressthepressFake-Wonk Friday
Follow the link to hear Orville Schell on Fresh Air - this starts as an assessment of Obama’s visit to China, but it quickly goes much broader and offers a look at China’s rise since 1989 and the myriad questions/issues that it raises. It’s nothing you haven’t heard before, but he does a good job of delivering a great deal of material in a small eloquent package. My kneejerk reactions to the “paralysis of democracy vs. China’s autocratic efficiency” always leave me disturbed with myself in that “helloo dark side!!“ kind of way. Assessing US/China Relations
FUSE lists Master – Single
Posted in News on November 10, 2009 by thepressthepressSmall housekeeping items:
Apparently the folks at FUSE has the released for our song Master listed as Master – Single instead of INTEOTWIJTEOAE or even Master 7″. They also didn’t list the hardest working man in Mass – JB Sapienza – as the director. Still fun to be on TV. Just wanted to correct the correctables.
O, and this:

Posted in Uncategorized on November 5, 2009 by thepressthepressNicholas Carr’s article in The Atlantic last year – Is Google Making Us Stupid – provided alot of ammo for our boozey old-man complaining sessions. I was reading it again today and happened to hop over to another essay which Carr cites in the article http://www.edge.org/3rd_culture/foreman05/foreman05_index.html and thought I’d post it. Why? Cos it makes you look alot cooler if you post the deep cuts and pretend you read obscure philosophical blogs all the time. Oh, and it was interesting.
Snobbery Ho!!

If you’re not, well……shit happens and sometimes it’s your fault. You should have signed up. And now that ship has sailed. You paid for a tarot card reading and the gnarled gypsy’s hand has shown you a the six-horned-BloodGoat-of-death card. You have shown up to school in a wool body suit and everyone else is naked; and so on and so forth….

Skydiving
Posted in Video on October 4, 2009 by thepressthepressWe went skydiving for Mr. Henry’s birthday. Dave, Alex, Chuck and our friend Tex can all be seen in the plane. As for the awkward strap grabbing and looking up, they make you do that. However, the crying and craven last min bargains made with Satan, those were all voluntary. Also, youtube cut the jockjams that make up the audio of the video for copyright reason. Enjoy the silence.
